Ok, so this is an update post to my original Shoemoney System Review.
First of all, I still haven’t learned anything new. There is an eBay arbitrage set of videos coming up that I think I MAY learn something from, but still in week three, I have nothing more than when I started.
Hitting some of my original points with followup:
- I still have no coupons.
- I still have no sign up gift. I did follow up with them many times and they took my address. I haven’t actually gotten anything though. I know I’m in the top 100 now though. That’s nice.
- The podcasts are still old.
- The videos still don’t teach me anything I didn’t already know. I think I may learn something, but I haven’t yet…
Here is a new point:
- Their support isn’t very good. I’ve asked a few questions, and gotten some spectacularly canned answers. The direct access to Jeremy is WORSE than just @replying him on Twitter and NOT being a member.
I’ve had some ideas for how videos should be released and I intend to share those with Jeremy or his team at some point, but I doubt they’ll care to listen. Maybe they will though. My big thought is that the user should get a video credit released every 2 days and be able to select from ALL of the videos which they want to see – that way advanced users can just skip the easy stuff like “How to sign up for Gmail?”
Other reviews I’ve found:
Negative
- ShoeMoney System Full Of Shit?
- Inside the Shoemoney System – Real Review – From a Members Point of View [Video]
- ShoeMoney System Review: Don’t Waste Your ShoeMoney.
I have not found a positive review yet, but if you know if a REAL one, please let me know.
Positive
- Neil Beck’s Shoemoney Learner – Of all of the reviews, this guy is a beginner and finds the system extremely useful. I found this review the best of all so far. Great job Neil. (Added 2/22/2010)

I’m also a member of the system. I know what you mean. I get bored with those account creation videos but last night they released more of them as well as fundamental videos. So, maybe things will pick up. I haven’t learned anything completely new so far and eBay arbitrage is something I’ve done years ago when I was a sophomore in high school. We’ll see how things go; I’m keeping track of my 60 day risk-free trial
it’s been hard to trying to find member reviews, thanks for the post.

I saw the same thing. I’m going to do another follow up in a week or so and we’ll see what’s up. I’m super psyched that they took the creation videos out. I’m also fairly happy with the arbitrage series. I have a ton of respect for Jeremy, and I feel bad giving a ‘bad’ review, but he’s working hard to change the system, so I’m sure my reviews will change.
Thanks for the comment.

Hi JTgraphic,
I can only assume you are a seasoned affiliate marketer? Have you left the Shoemoney system? I am on it and note some of your comments, especially the time taken to answer emails. I have experienced the same problems. What I would say in defence of the course is I have given in a few ideas for the webinar, and they have all been read out! Also the course is designed from a NEW users point of view, which I am. I see your point about having a points based system to allow all levels to extact the videos they want to cover. Why don’t you submit it ti a question in the next webinar. I am trying to set up a forum for all the shoemoney system users in facebook, so we can exchange ideas etc. Please have a look. Good luck!

I’m decently seasoned, so I’m sure this course isn’t 100% for me, but then again I don’t make a killing at it, so I’m missing something. My intent is to submit that video idea, but I was investigating the situation (re: your other comment) about the videos being made in real time.
I’ll check out your facebook group. Post a link.

PS One other point I forgot to mention. The videos are being made live time, that is most or all of them havent been created yet. I discovered this while carrying out some research on things that Jamie had done, only to discover she had only done her bit a few days previously. That might hamper you video idea?

So I guess it is not possible to just get teh whole thing, all 12 months, right away by paying all the money up front?

Correct. I wonder if he might make that an option some day? We’ll have to ask him.

Yeah, I’m 99% sure I’m going to cancel my subscription before the 60 days. In fact, I just may do it within the next few days to make sure I don’t forget. It was good to see that they got rid of all the “account creation” type videos, but even with a couple videos a week, this is just moving too slow. You have to realize, this course is going to be a year long. The internet moves so fast ANYTHING can change in a year. The ebay arbitrage videos are ok, but they’re certainly not anything new and for me, I’m not interested in doing ebay. I’ve done it before, that’s actually how I got started. I made a ton of money with it, but afiliate marketing is much fun, much more lucrative and that’s what I thought the program was primarily about. I’m at mid 4 figures a month right now, I thought I was going to be able to learn more to scale what I’m doing, but I can see I’m not. I need help now, not in a year.
To compare to other programs, I was recently joined Andy Jenkins video boss course to learn how to produce better videos that I can use to help with my marketing skills. Right away, he has over 100 videos from anywhere to 10 minutes-25 minutes in length EACH. Not to mention, in a few weeks, he’s releasing a ton more. Point is, you never have to worry about having a video to watch. There is so much content it’s not funny, but how it’s presented, it’s not overwhelming. That’s just right off the bat. Plus all the videos offer commenting for questions and general comments and Andy and his staff not only answer the comments, but include video responses when he sees people are asking the same thing. That’s like more lessons within a lesson. From the first video, you are writing stuff down and getting tons of ideas. And this course costs less than Shoe’s and you get the entire course in 6 months. Value-wise, between these two programs you can just see such a difference in quality. Shoe’s “lessons” are coming across as extremely thin and appear to be just reaching to squeeze it out so that you keep your membership. Andy’s knowledge, teaching ability, content and program organization is so amazing, it’s honestly one of the best programs that I have ever seen. It’s truly a learning course.
So, I wish you guys luck. I hope you get what you’re looking for with Shoemoney System, but I’m searching on. I’d much rather spend $2400 experimenting, than giving it to Shoe and waiting a year to see what happens. Take care.

Thank you for the comment.
I feel somewhat the same. I may hop over and check out Andy’s course too. I was on the fence because I don’t feel like I have the time to dedicate to video, but I can make it right?
I think one of the big resonating themes is that this course is too light for advanced users. He might consider releasing another course that is more advanced. I understand what you mean about the video quality too – but I think he was going for an improvised personal feel. Almost like Gary Vaynerchuk’s WLTV.

Funny that you say “I don’t feel like I have the time to dedicate to video,” because that’s something Andy addresses in one of his first videos lol. It’s along the lines that people feel that they don’t have time because they don’t know where to start or how to do it. Anyway, don’t want to seem like I’m pushing his course, and get off course with this subject, so I’ll leave it at that.
I will admit, that definitely one of the pros to Shoe’s program is his connections. For example, getting a “shoein” at Azoogle is pretty big. I’ve had an account with them for a while, but I know a lot of people that have been denied and would pay money to join them. I imagine he’ll have other networks that he’ll be able to get you in as well, if you have trouble. That’s a huge plus right there, especially for beginners and even may be worth the membership fee alone if you can produce within those networks.
I agree, for the advanced user, Shoe’s course is too light and slow, but I’m sure there are people that will gain a lot of knowledge and they will make money. I have no doubt about that. I’m looking to knock one out of the ballpark though lol, not just a few thousand here and there a month. And like I said, maybe Shoe could get me there, but my gut feeling after joining for a month is that he’s not. I could be wrong, but I’ll take my chances.

Yea – I remember seeing that about time in the vid. That’s why I followed up with “I can make it right?”
Anyways, you’re totally correct about the connections. The ad credit will be nice too. I’m going to give it 45 days and see what happens…

It was! He totally interpreted it wrong tho. It’s kind of funny. Oh well
I think I’ll be around for a little bit. He’s making some great changes to keep me interested. I’m glad this is pulling together to be such a great product.

I ended up cancelling, just wasn’t worth it to me. I wasn’t learning anything. One of the things that really bugged me is how he was always saying that it’s closed, and to make sure you get in on the waiting list..blah blah blah. You’ve always been able to join at sales.shoemoneysystem.com, just as you can right now when it’s supposedly closed. He has hundreds of affiliates, do you think he’s going to shut them out after a day? Of course not. So, he’s not be honest with us, and I don’t like that shadiness. Just be straight up. In any case, the program just wasn’t for me. Good luck guys.

I’m not sure that that is totally true. I think it’s limited to 500 users and people can sign up, but don’t get charged until they’re a member. I know John Chow is getting anxious because he has a bunch of people signed up but hasn’t gotten paid yet, because they aren’t members.
I hope you find a good venture out there for you – at least he makes canceling a cinch.

Sorry to hear you are leaving the progamme. Did you ever get your prize for being one of the first hundred to sign up? I did make that one of my questions for the last webinar, but he didn’t read it out, and I have had no email reply either.

I’m actually not leaving. I did get the book and shirt though – finally. Maybe I nagged enough? Anyways – for people looking to cancel, I sent Jeremy a direct email and got this as part of the response:
..Its all handled by Clickbank:
The ShoeMoney System billing is handled by ClickBank. Unfortunately we have no way to initiate a refund to you from our end, but it’s very easy for you to initiate the refund request and get the funds credited back to your bank account in 72 hours.
All you have to do is go to http://www.clickbank.com/orderDetail.htm
Entetr your Order number (this will be in the email you received from ClickBank when you purchased the product) along with your email address and click ‘Submit’
Then follow the step-by-step instructions for requesting a refund.

This course costs nothing. In fact Jeremy is giving you $136 just to try it! While the earlier videos are extremely basic we’re only 6 weeks in on a 52 week course. Do you really think the remaining weeks are going to be as basic as the first weeks have been?
And if you have been a marketer for a while already then surely you can do the sums? $2364.00 for $2500.00 worth of advertising coupons PLUS the chance to learn a few things you might not have known before? I’d take that anytime!

That math is the big reason I’m sticking with it. I think there is value beyond the education. Coupons, support, etc.
